The Newskid Legion helps Lois and Jimmy search for Superman, as he is interrogated if there will be another invasion. The General, named Sam, presents the "Zero Day" file of an alien invasion from 22 years ago, wiping out his and Waller's comrades before returning through their portal and leaving their technology behind. From Superman's anguished reaction, Sam doubts any connection to Zero Day, but a displeased Waller secretly helps Willis escape, destroying Wilson's right eye to free the others. A vengeful Ivo attacks Superman, ironically breaking his restraints to escape, and he is found weakened by Flip Johnson. Taken to safety, Clark is depressed to think he was sent to Earth to destroy it, but Lois soothes his doubts before he can battle Ivo, rampaging while siphoning the power grid to grow gigantic. Lois and Jimmy then use social media to petition everyone in Metropolis to turn off their power, weakening Ivo for Superman to destroy his suit. Victorious, Superman and Lois declare their love, as Jimmy finds File X in Lois's bag. Deemed incompetent, General Sam is demoted and replaced by Waller, who gives him Ivo's last invention with orders to kill Superman: the Omega Cannon.
